A note on the Los Angeles wildfires

How to help in the wake of the devastating wildfires in the LA area.

By the team at Sensible Weather

January 17, 2025

Our headquarters are in Venice, CA, and many of our team members call the LA area home. While our team is safe, the fires, fueled by extreme and unpredictable weather patterns, have devastated so much of our beloved city. As our friends and neighbors face unimaginable challenges, we’ve been searching for ways to help.

We’ve compiled a list of local organizations in urgent need of donations and assistance that are linked in our bio. As a team, we’re contributing to these efforts on the ground and want to share resources for those looking to help from afar.

At Sensible Weather, our mission is to help people navigate the uncertainties of weather, and moments like this remind us how vital resilience and community support truly are. While we not have the resources of larger brands or influencers, every bit of support matters.

Our hearts are with everyone affected.

Organizations to Support:

  1. Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation – Provides critical resources to support firefighters in protecting lives and property.
  2. California Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund – Focuses on long-term rebuilding and resilience efforts for communities impacted by wildfires.
  3. Los Angeles Regional Food Bank – Provides food and essentials to individuals and families displaced by the wildfires.
  4. World Central Kitchen – Serves hot meals to wildfire survivors and first responders in affected areas.
  5. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles – Helps rebuild homes for families who lost everything in the fires.
  6. Pasadena Humane – Provides care and shelter for animals displaced by the fires and seeks foster homes.
  7. Baby2Baby  – Provides emergency supplies for vulnerable children and families who have lost everything.

Every contribution makes a difference—thank you for supporting these vital efforts.
